an•o•nym•i•ty
noun \ˌa-nə-ˈni-mə-tē\
obscurity, facelessness, namelessness
We have our own reasons for making ourselves anonymous in cyberspace. Sometimes we want to make a totally new personality from what we really have. We can be whatever we want to be. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be cited as cool and outgoing when we really are a pretty depressing slob in real life?
Other side of the coin, people use anonymity to be their real selves. When no one knows you, you don’t have to be politically de riguer all the time and pleasantries are only reserved for people who you think are just like you in real life.
Although it is still debatable whether computer-mediated technology brings about the basest of impulses due to crowd and antisocial behavior - therefore one may act in a manner not necessarily within one's normal behavior - or not, one cannot attest that one may express himself more freely when one is not likely to be judged unfairly.
Kaya pala maraming bading na may blog. Nagtatago sila ‘neng. At extra booking :D
