about this blog

Others want it hard, others semi-hard. A few have it poached from them. The rest wants the freakin’ cacophony of an omelette. As for me, I want it sunny side up – life, that is.

Am I a Juvenile Delinquent?

Below is one of my favorite declamation pieces when I was in high school. Sayang lang at nahiya ako gamitin 'to sa English class dati :)

Am I a juvenile delinquent? I'm a teenager. I'm young – young at heart and in mind. In this position, I'm carefree. I enjoy doing nothing but to drink the wine of pleasure. I seldom go to school, nobody cares! But instead you can see me roaming around. Standing at the nearby street. Or else standing beside a jukebox stand playing the nerve-tickling boogaloo. Those are the reasons, why people, you, branded me delinquent, a juvenile delinquent.

My parents ignored me, my teachers sneered at me, and my friends – they neglected me. One night I asked my mother to teach me how to appreciate the values in life. Would you care what she told me? "Stop bothering me! Can't you see? I had to dress up for my mahjong session, some other time my child." I turned to my father to console me, but, what a wonderful thing he told me. "Child, here's 500 bucks, get it and enjoy yourself. Go and ask your teachers that question."

And in school, I heard nothing but the echoes of the voices of my teachers torturing me with these words. "Why waste your time in studying? You can't even divide 100 by 5! Go home and plant sweet potatoes."

I may have the looks of Audrey Hepburn, the calm voice of Natalie Cole, but that's not what you can see in me. Here's a young girl who needs counsel to enlighten her way and guidance to strengthen her life into contentment.

Honorable judge, friends, and teachers...is this the girl whom you commented a juvenile delinquent?

A declamation piece. Okay, assuming lang na the girl is a real person ... :)

Hmm.. I think she's not a juvenile delinquent. kasi sa pagkaka-alam ko lang (I may be wrong naman hehehe) juvenile delinquencies refer to antisocial and illegal behavior of most teens.. Eh base sa mga naisulat mo (sa declamation peice), she's not antisocial. She even asked people around her, seeking advice and console. Kaso nga lang, they tend to walk away from her.. her parents, teachers.. and i'd bet even her friends. Hmm.. she's not doing anything illegal naman, diba? :)

She's not a juvenile delinquent.. she's just a troubled kid who wants to be appreciated. well, that's my two cents. hehe.. My opinion of course. :)

A very short but nice declamation piece. Clap. clap. :)

P.S.
Oh, Followed you.. hope you;d follow back? :)

baka hindi sya juvenile delinquent. Maybe, she's asking some importance and acceptance from the socials around her.

Maybe she will become a juvenile delinquent. Her fault? No.

People who were supposed to care and nurture her, and enrich her personality and psyche ignored her.

now she is standing in one of those streets somewhere. one day, she might roam to those godforsaken corners of the town where pimps thrive and cultivate their victims to become sluts and juvenile delinquents.

Is it her fault? Ask those who are in the pulpits, in places of power, those people who have the responsibility and opportunity to shape a future for this troubled girl....

Now it got me thinking, if there are juvenile delinquents who became successful later in their lives. I guess, that's something for me to find out. :)

@kamila - hahahahaha! ako na ang delinkwenteng bata. :))

@leah - nosebleed ka naman mare. psych major? hehe mwah! :))

and oh, followed all your blogs :)

@khanto - my POV: not getting importance/acceptance from specific sectors of the society that mold a person makes one delinquent.

@mr. tripster - i like your mind. parang masarap ka kausap over coffee :)

@louie - merun yan for sure. hindi lang ako makapagbigay ng example ngayon. hahaha!
